Increasing demand for data has pushed the GÉANT research and education network to its limits. In response, the EU-funded GN4-3N project undertook the most significant restructuring of the backbone network in a decade. As a result, citizens in Europe and beyond are benefiting from faster and more reliable connectivity.

And with mounting evidence of serious pollution, marine litter, overfishing... the world is finally waking up to the importance of Marine Protected Areas to preserve the complex and delicate balance between ecosystems and the services they provide. A massive international consortium, funded by the EU, took up that challenge, focusing on the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
