About the EU Blue Parks Community

The EU Blue Parks Community is a platform for EU Member State authorities, practitioners, researchers and stakeholders to collaborate on marine protection, in line with the EU Mission ‘Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030’. The community directly supports the Mission Ocean and Waters overarching objective to ‘protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity’, particularly in protecting 30% and strictly protecting 10% of EU sea areas by 2030.

Currently, nearly a hundred members contribute to the community’s efforts, representing a wide range of organisations, including public authorities, non-governmental organisations, private companies, and public and private research institutions from across various EU sea basins.

Join the community!

The EU Blue Parks Community provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge and good practices, enhance governance, foster stakeholder involvement, explore funding opportunities, and improve the management of marine protected areas. Members contribute their expertise and learn from others across EU sea basins, enhancing marine conservation efforts and effectively addressing common challenges. By joining, members can strengthen synergies, leveraging collective knowledge and resources from established initiatives.

Community members benefit from the EU Blue Parks helpdesk – a free service providing scientific advice on specific marine protection topics.
