Description

The Mission Ocean and Waters funded Path4Med project is working to eliminate water and soil pollution in the Mediterranean region through sustainable solutions that benefit the environment, economy, and local communities.

The project’s call for Associated Regions is open until 30 January 2025 (17:00 CET).

Objectives:

The Path4Med Open Call aims to strengthen the capacity of local and regional authorities to implement innovative solutions that reduce fertiliser use and prevent, minimise, and remediate pollution caused by excess nutrients. Five projects will be funded, with each receiving up to EUR 100 000. Successful projects will select and implement one or more of Path4Med's innovative solutions, ranging from novel monitoring strategies and Earth observation techniques to precision irrigation systems and policy design tools.

Eligible applicants:

Local and regional public authorities with clearly defined responsibilities in the following domains are invited to apply: water management, soil management, environmental protection, meteorology, and agricultural policies. Public authorities active in other domains relevant to the implementation and testing of the innovative solutions described in Annex 10 of the Open Call are also welcome to apply.

Please note that only single applicants are eligible (no consortia). Applicants from the following Path4Med project consortium countries are not eligible: Albania, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Budget:

A total of five projects will be funded, with a budget of up to EUR 100 000 per project.

Duration:

Contracting and announcement of results is expected between May to June 2026. Funded projects will be implemented over a period of 9 months from July 2026 to around March 2027.
